Every article published on the 24/7 Remedial Services blog is written by a working restoration technician or project manager, then peer-reviewed by a second IICRC-certified team member before publication. We deliberately avoid generic, AI-generated restoration content; if a guide describes a drying schedule, a Xactimate line item, an antimicrobial protocol, or a containment design, that detail came from a real Eastern Ontario job file with personally identifying information redacted. When industry standards change — a revision to the IICRC S500 water damage standard, an update to S520 mould remediation, a refresh of S700 fire and smoke restoration, or a meaningful shift in how the Insurance Bureau of Canada interprets a peril — the affected articles are flagged for review and re-dated when updates are published.

Our readership splits roughly into three groups. The largest is homeowners and landlords in the middle of an active loss — burst pipes at 2 a.m., basement sewer backups during spring melt, kitchen fires, attic mould discovered during a real-estate inspection — who need clear, technically accurate guidance in the next ten minutes. Response windows vary by distance — most Kingston addresses see a technician on-site within 60 minutes of dispatch, Napanee and Bath are typically 45–90 minutes, and Brockville, Belleville, and Smiths Falls run roughly 90 minutes — but the underlying IICRC standards, Ontario policy language, and documentation requirements are the same regardless of where the loss occurred.
