Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

24/7 Remedial Services ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of property owners, tenants, insurance partners, and visitors to 247remedialservices.ca. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario privacy law.

By using our website, submitting a contact request, or engaging us for restoration work, you consent to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.

1. Information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to your inquiry, perform restoration work, and meet legal, insurance, and warranty obligations. This includes:

  • Contact details you provide through our forms or by phone — name, phone number, email, service address, and a description of the loss or emergency.
  • Project information collected on-site or during scoping — photos, moisture readings, IICRC psychrometric logs, equipment placement, Xactimate scope notes, and any documents you provide.
  • Insurance information shared with your authorization — carrier name, claim number, adjuster contact, and direction-to-pay documentation.
  • Payment information needed to invoice and collect for services rendered. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers; payments are processed by PCI-compliant providers.
  • Technical information your browser shares automatically — IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring URL, pages viewed, and time on site.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To dispatch emergency crews, scope work, and complete restoration projects.
  • To coordinate insurance claims, upload documentation to carrier portals, and communicate with adjusters on your behalf.
  • To invoice, collect payment, and maintain warranty and tax records.
  • To respond to questions and provide quotes for future work.
  • To improve our website, monitor uptime, and detect abuse.
  • To meet legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your information for unrelated third-party marketing.

3. Disclosure and sharing

We share personal information only with parties needed to deliver services or comply with the law, including:

  • Your insurance carrier and adjuster, with your authorization.
  • Qualified subcontractors (e.g. licensed electricians, plumbers, abatement specialists) operating under written confidentiality and scope-of-work agreements.
  • Service providers that host our site, send transactional email, and process payments. These vendors are contractually limited to the purposes we authorize.
  • Government or regulatory bodies when required by subpoena, court order, or applicable law.

4. Retention

Job files (scope, photos, psychrometric logs, signed work authorizations, invoices) are retained for the longer of seven years or the period required by warranty, insurance, and tax obligations. Marketing and general inquiry records are retained until you ask us to remove them or until they are no longer needed for the purpose collected.

5. Safeguards

We protect personal information with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards proportionate to its sensitivity. These include access controls on project management systems, encrypted transmission of forms and documents, role-based access for staff and subcontractors, and locked physical storage for printed records. No system is 100% secure, but we work to minimize risk and respond promptly if a breach is suspected.

6. Your rights and choices

Under PIPEDA you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Withdraw consent for future use, subject to legal and contractual requirements (note: withdrawing consent may limit our ability to complete or warrant work in progress).
  • Request deletion where retention is no longer required by law or contract.
  • File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

To exercise any of these rights, submit a request through our contact form. We respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies and analytics

Our site uses a minimal set of first-party cookies for essential functionality (form submission, session continuity) and may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages are useful and where to improve. You can disable cookies in your browser; some site features may stop working as a result. We do not use cross-site advertising trackers.

8. Third-party links

Our site occasionally links to third-party resources (insurance carriers, regulatory bodies, building code references). Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

9. Children's privacy

Our services are directed to property owners, property managers, and insurance professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page indicates the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the page for a reasonable period after they take effect.

11. Contact

Questions, access requests, or complaints about this privacy policy can be submitted through our contact form. We will acknowledge receipt within two business days and provide a substantive response within 30 days.
